![]() What's the best to buy? Well Affinity Photo has a Trial. If this is just version 1 then I'm very curious what the next versions are gonna bring. It's a young program and already amazing. So, Photoshop still gets 1st place but Affinity Photo definitely gets a close second place.Īnd don't forget, Photoshop has been here for years. The interface is comparable with Photoshop and a lot of Photoshop tutorials can be used for Affinity Photo as well. When you consider the price you without a doubt get a lot more bang for your buck with Affinity Photo. then again, so is the price and if you compare it to other photo manipulation software then Affinity leaves them waaaay behind them. ![]() If you don't use those features a lot then there's not much of an issue and there are ways to work around it but Affinity is definitely not up to par with Photoshop yet. Select Object is remarkably good but also not available in Affinity and there's most likely a lot more. Really? you haven't? How about puppet warp? Or match color? color select is a nice one as well. ![]() :)Įdit 2: Figured out group clipping masks! See below. You wouldn't even know what you're missing.Įdit: As I'm still only a few months in, if anybody has advice on how to replicate this functionality in Affinity suite, I'm all ears. If you aren't already hooked on Adobe, I would start with Affinity. Adobe's price gouging SAAS plan needs to go die. It's really a fantastic set of programs at a consumer-friendly price. I find myself switching back and forth between Photo, Designer and Publisher for a lot of my projects. Assets, Symbols, and their stock image integration come to mind. That said, there are ways in which the Affinity suite is better than the Adobe suite. Not a major part of my work, but I liked doing it for hobby projects (Discord emotes, etc.). I don't really have a means to easily make animated GIFs anymore. So, being able to add two strokes, or 5 gradient overlays, etc. Secondly, the ability to add multiple of the same effect to the same layer. There are workarounds, of course, but clipping masks were a major convenience for me in the form of non-destructive editing without having to rely on duplicates. I used those as a major part of my workflow in PS. Main thing I'm missing is group clipping masks.
